Britain Branch Construction - UPDATE
by The Searcher indefinitely something going in the london bethel.. i thought i'd ask them again (and record it again) what the situation was regarding the new britain branch construction work.. i got the same sister (debbie) and here is how the conversation went: .
me: i've been told that construction of the new branch has been stopped - is this true?.
debbie: no, it has not ceased, it's carrying on as normal - can i ask where you're calling from?.

Good job.
But i'm not sure how a person on the front desk phones and especially (strike me down for saying this) a "sister" would have knowledge of what is or is not going on with construction miles away from her location on a day by day basis.
So she said it had stopped 1st time around. maybe she'd heard rumours or talk and accidentally passed it on in a moment of personal honesty. It could still be just rumours and talk and not set in stone fact.
Maybe they thought they were going to be shut down and later got the confirmation that this was not the case.
Or maybe they had confirmation it was to be stopped and no leaks were to be made and so the front desk team are now behaving as expected and denying it.
Confirmation isnt always confirmation, just as denials dont always mean what they say they mean.
I think if you want confirmation you need to know someone who is high up at the site, or else rock up there and see what you find out.

How accurate is the Bible?
by WireRider inhow accurate is the bible?
the "compiled" version (council of nicaea) was not established for hundreds, or even thousands, of years after events happened.
stories were handed down generation to generation to generation before being written down.

Not very, is the answer.
I also think you'd be a better person for not having had it fuck up your entire life.

It would be awesome if they found a fossil, but the chances must be incredibly slim. -

World Wide Construction comes to a Shuddering Halt - Jehovah's Blessing has Evidently been Suspended!
by Slidin Fast inthe chelmsford project in the uk has already come to a halt and every one has been sent home.
the bethel family in london is to be cut by several hundred.
my impression is that most ambitious youngster in the org dream of being involved with the building program.

An externally forced shut down would be sweeping and complete i would have thought, including the dumbass new headquarters.
I still think it's about money.

If Jehovah's Witnesses go some more in the same direction
by iconoclastic injws made a diligent study on teachings that have pagan origin and found christendom as being mostly built on pagan teachings, hence keep distance from them all.
so far so good.
now, if jws continue in the same direction, they will find virtually everything in the bible as borrowed from pagansstarting from six-staged creation account, and devil (ahriman) making the first man and woman fall (which is from zoroastrianism) to the messiah restoring what has been lost (which is found in many mythologies).

LOL, it did look a bit thick in the picture as well. you got a like from me for that one.
But seriously they chose poorly there.
Oh look 10 seconds on the internet finds this spray on barrier: https://grace.com/construction/en-ae/Documents/Perma-A-Barrier%20VP.pdf
I'm not saying that's the stuff to use, i'm saying spray on barriers are easily available.
Huge project, poor planning, poor choices, volunteer workers, what could possibly go wrong?

I know the OP wasnt about the project particularly but looking at the photos it's obvious they have bitten off far more than they can chew with the size of this project. You can build an assembly hall with volunteer labour, but it wont scale up like you think into this sort of build.
All the talk of redoing parts of it an wasted man hours and materials is the result. if they were paying for labour there is no way they would allow untrained amateurs with paint rollers to slowly and poorly apply a vapour barrier to the building for weeks on end. There must be 1000's of similar examples in the build.
Having them work thru the snow and worst of the winter screams cult to anyone watching it.

Having just had a quick look thru #3 then going back thru #1 and #2, gallery 3 sticks out as far more amateurish cultish and dangerous.
Nothing particularly outstanding just the general feel and tone. i think it was giving the public (or more importantly the legal, banking, government sectors) an impression normally reserved for internal propaganda.
Having said that, this picture got my goat:
Two workers on a boom lift apply a vapor-permeable air barrier to the exterior walls. It takes approximately two months to apply the barrier to each residence building.
Question: why isnt it sprayed on in a fraction of the time??
